Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
-
How much do you charge per session?
I offer a free introductory 20-minute phone consultation. The cost for the initial 60-minute evaluation session is $150. However, I do offer a sliding scale, which is financial-needs-based.

What's the difference between therapy and mental performance consulting?
Therapy is a clinical service that focuses on mental health and emotional well-being. It often involves exploring your past, relationships, thought patterns, and emotional responses to better understand what’s getting in the way of living the kind of life you want. Therapy can address concerns like anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, relationship difficulties, identity struggles, and more. As a licensed therapist (under supervision), I provide this service in a confidential, structured, and legally regulated setting.
Mental performance consulting, on the other hand, is not therapy. It’s a non-clinical, skills-based service that helps athletes, performers, coaches, and teams strengthen the mental side of performance. That might include working on focus, confidence, motivation, emotional regulation, or communication under pressure. It doesn’t involve diagnosing or treating mental health conditions.
-
What can I expect from the free 20-minute consultation call?
During this consultation call, I will ask you a few questions about what prompted you to seek services and go over some logistics (e.g., payment, cancellations, etc.).
-
Is therapy in-person or virtual?
At this time, treatment is provided both in-person and via Zoom depending on your preference. All patients must be located in New York State.
-
What is an MHC-LP?
MHC-LP stands for Mental Health Counselor – Limited Permit. This means I have completed my formal education and training in mental health counseling and am now working under the supervision of a licensed professional while completing my required 3,000 clinical hours. I collaborate closely with my licensed supervisors, who support my clinical work, review cases, and provide valuable feedback.
-
Do I need to prepare for my first therapy session?
The first session after the consultation call will be slightly more formal than others, where I will gently guide you with questions to learn more about your history, experiences, and goals. If it makes you feel comfortable to come prepared with written material, feel free to do so, though nothing is required.
